The China Spring/ Summer 2010 Fashion Week opened this Monday, November 2nd in Beijing, and so far it seems far from boring.

Young fashion designers, including college students, are being given a platform to showcase their work at the ongoing China Fashion Week as organizers seek out new talent and attempt to shake off accusations of copying that have dogged the industry. In a show on Monday, models presented boldly-cut dresses designed by students from 25 domestic fashion schools.

Although the trends might look different from what we've seen on European and American runways, the innovation is definitely there, especially in the various facial masks and head accessories - perhaps the next generation of Chinese designers is looking up to Lady GaGa as their fashion inspiration?

Enjoy the highlights from the shows.
