Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2009 Ad Campaign

We had to wait for a while, but the entire Balenciaga Fall/Winter ad campaign has finally been released.

Jennifer Connelly is styled by Marie Amelie Sauve and photographed by Steven Meisel (infact they remind us Louis Vuitton ad campaigns featuring Madonna.... apparently, he loves contortionists).

But the final question is: did Jennifer eventually fall down on the floor? Let's hope she didn't, this was one of the most pricey Balenciaga collections!

Happy 25th Anniversary London Fashion Week

In order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week, Elle UK teamed up with 25 designers/models/photographers to create 25 posters that will be displayed on London Underground.

Moreover, each of the contributors was asked to predict what's next for LFW.
Some of them are really optimistic about its future:

"British fashion will become more important in the next twenty five years. St. Martins and other fashion colleges alike will export many young designers to America and Europe. The British influence will be extremely prominent all over the world" Barbara Hulanicki

"London fashion week in 25 years? Bigger, better, faster, stronger" Gareth Pugh

"Simply twenty five more years as the style capital of the world! " Mulberry

"I think London fashion will continue to go from strength to strength, whilst being cultivated by the amazing colleges and artistic communities that spring up here. With the support of the BFC I hope that creativity, mixed with commercial support will thrive and LFW will continue to grow and retain it’s position as one of the leading epicenters of fashion" Luella

"London will continue to be the melting pot of fashion. More talent, more creativity and a bigger international audience. Here’s to the next 25" Todd Lynn

"London retaining it’s reputation for the most creative fashion capital. It will continue, as always, to have wit and a sense of humour, producing some of the world’s best creative talents" Lulu Guinnes

"London will become another capital of couture in it's own unique way" Mark Fast

"The need for beauty and elegance will become more important in the way we lead our lives" Shaun Leane (I hope so!)

Matthew Williamson stresses on the great importance of London as a generator of new talents: "London has a wealth of good fashion schools and colleges who specialise not only in producing technically capable graduates but also students who are creative and ground breaking in their designs. The next 25 years will hopefully see the same level of encouragement and support so that our hot-bed of talent continues to flourish"

A personal favourite:

"Not exactly a prediction but I'd love to see London Fashion Week become a national holiday in the next 25 years. That way we could have a BIT of a break after all the hard work (parties)" Henry Holland

This is a great project! I'm totally into it! Some of the posters are absolutely beautiful, each one respecting the very personal and unique style of its creator.
